Disclaimer: I don’t own Narnia or any related characters. Narnia belongs to…er...Disney, I suppose. :D  So don’t sue me. I’m poor. You won’t get any money from a lawsuit. Oh, and I don’t own Jordin Sparks’ song, Tattoo, either. No money is being made from the writing of this fic.

Author’s Note: I was actually playing a popular MMORPG game, Maplestory, when this song came on the radio I listen to on the internet – Maple Radio. I’d heard this song a thousand times, but it hadn’t really seemed Susan/Caspian to me till I paid attention. I’ve been in a Susan/Caspian mood lately (mainly because I’ve been reading all the fics and being a beta reader for Stephanie), so the lyrics finally clicked with me. On a final note, please be gentle when reviewing? This is my first written fic in a loooong time.

Don’t look back, got a new direction
I loved you once and I needed protection
you’re still a part of everything I do
you’re on my heart just like a tattoo

Just like a tattoo...
I’ll always have...
                …you.

                -Jordin Sparks, “Tattoo”

Susan sighed as the teacher droned on about the theories of a man named Isaac Newton and his laws concerning gravity. Susan took the opportunity to drown out her professor’s monotone voice, allowing her thoughts to turn towards a certain Telmarine prince-no, he was King now, Susan reminded herself- back in Narnia.  Ever since her return, she’d been thinking more and more about Caspian and finding herself rethinking her words to him before she’d left – she’d told him it never would’ve worked between them. However, now she was having second thoughts – it’d just felt so right when she kissed him. Sure, she’d kissed other boys – not many, but enough to know the difference between a kiss and…well...a kiss.

And what a kiss it was. It’d taken her breath away, catching her by surprise. She was even more taken aback when he kissed her back. She remembers missing the feel of his lips on her own as soon as they’d broken apart. When he’d buried his face into her neck, her stomach had been filled with butterflies – his breath on her neck, and oh, he was so close. She took the moment to inhale the scent that was so uniquely Caspian – he smelled like a forest after a rainstorm mixed with something she couldn’t quite identify.

Susan mentally halted those thoughts – thoughts like those were dangerous nowadays, at least for her. ‘I can’t help it,’ she argued with herself. ‘It wasn’t exactly fair of Aslan to make us separate, especially knowing what could’ve been.' She trusted Aslan, yes, but didn’t agree with his decision. His decision had torn her away from someone…someone whom she could’ve become quite close to.

She’d been down this train of thought before – it happened quite often, actually. Even the most mundane thing could spark a memory of her time in Narnia, and more often than not it was a memory of a time she shared with Caspian.

She knew quite well that these feelings weren’t ones that would fade with time – ‘Time heals all wounds my foot,’ she thought.  Some part of her heart, if not all of it, would always remain back in Narnia, she could see that much already. Because she’d met him, her life had been forever changed.

No matter what Aslan says…One day, we will meet again. I swear it, or my name isn’t Queen Susan the Gentle,’ she silently vowed to herself. And she intended to keep that promise, no matter what.
